Anne WilsonOriginally the middle movement of a suite for classical guitar ensemble, the Cancion was written in honor of Clare Callahan, the head of the classical guitar department at the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. This version for solo cello and cello trio features a poignant, gracefully-spinning melodic line played by the soloist and a simple, mostly-pizzicato accompaniment by the trio.

Anne Wilsonís works have been performed at such venues as the Chautauqua Institution, the Aspen Music Festival, the Julliard School, The Museum of Women in the Arts (Washington, D.C.), the Amsterdam Cello Biennale, the Cincinnati Classical Guitar Workshop, and conventions of the American Guild of Organists.
